Good morning everyone and I love the new emoticons.
My name is Heather and I live in Texas with my loving family on our ranch outside of Amarillo. I will be going to see our George in Lubbock. I still visit at the CMT board but haven't posted there in a long time.

Hi Heather - man, what I wouldn't do to live on a
ranch "Somewhere Down In Texas"! My husband
just won't agree to move. Arizona is where I'm at.

Thank you Str8fan12 My family has lived on our land for over over 70 years and we love it here. The sun setting in the evening over the fields is to die for. Hi everyone from here in Alabama! I'm already having George withdrawals knowing I won't see him again until next year! Not sure if any of my pictures from Vegas turned out or not as I was a bit far from the stage and have been swamped since I got home. Will check and post any that did. Hi Donna and everyone from the CMT board! Have a grait weekend!

Greetings fellow strait lovers. This is a great idea. Thanks for the invite. My name is Mary. I live in a small town in Kentucky near Fort Knox (where all the gold is). George is such a treasure I think he should be stored here, too. I have been an avid fan for many years. I hope to get some pix in Lexington that I can share with everyone. I retired from teaching in 2004 after 29 years. I work a few hours a week at Victoria's Secret. This keeps me from going stir crazy. I take George with me everyday and play him. I am sure you can imagine where the mind wanders in a room full of sexy items and listening to George. Can life get any better? Happy thoughts

Hello, everyone. I recognize some of the names from the CMT board. I used my same name from there for easy recognition. That sure was a GRAIT show in Las Vegas. So sorry Deb and I didn't get to meet up with the others. We walked through the Centrifuge but didn't notice any obvious board fans, it was rather late, too, about 7 or 7:30. Anyway, this sounds like a nice place to post. I became a "real" fan when I caught the last scenes of Pure Country on TV and recognized that face from a CD (the one with I Just Want to Dance With You on it) that I had gone looking for after hearing the most incredible voice singing the most incredible song at a dance. I've been to 2 shows so far, Tacoma last year and Vegas this year. Since I moved to Vegas from Washington last year, I am hoping to see his Vegas show every year from now on.
Thanks, Ranger, for starting this new board. I sure hope it takes off and lots of us post here. I'll try to check in often.

Hi Everyone! Thanks Ranger for contacting me and for starting this board for us! My name is Kathy (kathyto from the cmt board) and I live in CT. I have been a Strait fan for a very long time. My husband introduced me to Georges music back in 1980 and I have been hooked ever since. Have been to numerous concerts and will be going to Philly this Sat. and Baltimore in April. My friend will be coming with me to Baltimore and it will be her first George concert. ;D I'm sure he will have a new fan after that weekend. Talk to you all soon! Kathy> |

I finally made it here. Thanks for the invite. I live just outsde of the Austin city limits on the north side and my name is Jane. Julie's story sounds so much like mine that I have posted on other boards. I had no clue who George was because I had quit listening to country radio because it wasn't country anymore. My teenage son at the time was playing a song on his record player. I liked what I was hearing, so I went to his room and asked him who that was singing. He said "George Strait". I said WHO? Then he handed me the album cover and said "this guy". I said "WOW", he not only sounds good, but he LOOKS good, too. I was hooked big-time and have been ever since. I don't want to even think about what it would be like without George's music in my life.

Thanks Ed, for the invite, and HELLO ! I was a member of the CMT "bored" and the old board of yours. Never posted much on your other board. To hard to figure out. I am a new George fan..........and boy, have I missed a lot! I've been hooked since GIA. Didn't know who it was singing it 'till hubs told me. I knew who George was, I'm from Texas too. Just never paid attention to him. Boy, does he have my attention now ! That voice......and to think......... I thought he was all about those tight jeans and goodlooks! Not that the above mentioned doesn't make me drool  . It's just that voice...OMG !!!! This looks to be a fun place. I see a lot of familiar names from CMT and our e-mail group. Love the pictures. Of course Kim always does a grait job. Looking forward to being here. |
