What if King George did an album of covers of classic country songs like Alan Jackson did in 1999? We've heard him do so many awesome covers in concert over the years, from Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," Webb Pierce's "There Stands the Glass," "Conway Twitty's "Linda on My Mind," Merle Haggard's "Cherokee Maiden", George Jones' "The Grand Tour," and the Bob Wills classic "Take Me Back to Tulsa." I would also like to hear Mr. Strait cover "Heartaches by the Number" by Ray Price, Buck Owens' "Love's Gonna Live Here", Lefty Frizell's "If You've Got the Money (I Got The Time"), Waylon's first big hit, "Only Daddy that'll Walk the Line," and three songs from modern legends Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Brooks and Dunn. I loved how he sang "Where Were You" on the CMT Giants show on Alan Jackson, and kicked into high gear in 2011 with his take on "Boot Scootin' Boogie" by Brooks and Dunn. Finally, there's this Garth Brooks single from his self-titled debut album that makes me think of George every time I hear it. It's a honky-tonker called "Not Counting You." Garth never cared for the song, despite it being a #2 hit for him, but whenever I hear it, I think the Oklahoman could have pitched it to The King.

His performance of "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was in the spring of 2010, but I love so much how he did it! To me, that is the best that I have ever heard him sing live! I love everything about his performance of that song!
God bless you and him always!!!

Just off the top of my head, I'd love to hear him do Don Williams "I Believe" and Chris LeDoux's "Whatchya Gonna Do With a Cowboy". He'd have to do something by Kenny Rogers and Glenn Campbell - "Three Times a Lady" and "Gentle on My Mind". One song that keeps coming to mind is "I've been running down the road trying to loosen my load..." Don't know who sings it, can't remember the name. Love the idea of the album.
