Looks like the red dirt version of Los Lonely Boys' How Far is Heaven. They even walk off down the road like Los Lonely Boys at the end of the video. I like the look and sound, but his scratchy voice doesn't do it for me. I do like listening, on occasion, to the roadhouse type shows that some stations have. It can get a little too "gritty" for my taste, but some of it is really good and sure a nice change from the Top 20.

Would you consider Randy Rogers Band and Pat Green to be in that category. I think of them as having a Texas sound.

W0W Ellen Sorry I didn't reply to your question long ago. .. this part of the board doesn't get much use these days. I do like Pat Greene and I'm glad that the award was won by Ryan. Just the fact that MTV/CMT didn't have their paws all over his music was another boost to the fact that music around Austin and other parts of the country is still moving forward even though they dragged it into the ditch.

Thanks to a poster over at CMT who got me searching the country (online) for red dirt, traditional, and Texas country music, I stream a station or two from Texas a lot. There's some great music out there (Randy Rogers, Roger Creager, Ryan, and others) that is being totally ignored by mainstream country. I guess this is a reason for Yanks like me to say "God Bless Texas".
