Board announcement Please read.

First of all I want to thank everyone for signing up and becoming members of the board. This place is a great place to kick back and read up on the latest news, post pictures of the concerts you attend and to just hang out with other country music fans.



The board was set up to have fun and nothing more. I make no
money from the board and it's OUR board. I am just the administrator
and I have never had a single problem with a board member
until now...

Now I will put on my Administrator hat..




I have been running message boards for years and one thing
they provide is a way to see who is posting by way of what is
called an IP. This is an assigned number that goes to your
computer when you sign on to the Internet. A fingerprint of
your actions shall we say. It's how the board knows when you
visit and keeps you logged in. If you post under the same IP
using more than one name.. The board lets me know.

Well, Long story short we have a member who is posting under
a few names here and telling people false information. I have
seen it at other boards and people with multiple user names is
really not that big of a deal but when it comes to leading other
members to believe you have medical problems or other various
tragedies I draw the line. People should not be fooled into caring
for someone who isn't even a real person but a second made up account
of another.

SO... Long story short I am locking down the account of the
person who is posting under those different names and unless
they have an EXTREMELY good reason for doing so their account
will be locked down until further notice.

If anyone has received any odd emails or PMs regarding the
board or other members please let me know.

If you know me then you know I am the most laid back guy
in the world and this isn't something that I would have thought
I would have to do but I will not have board members duped.

I think it is a great thing that you are doing, because it is about the integrity of the board and the members. You are looking out for everybody visiting this board and I am impressed that you are willing to change your "laid back" attitude to protect the board's members. I have stopped visiting other boards because of certain people posting upsetting comments and it is great to know that you are looking out for all of us and that we will be "protected" from such behavior. This board rocks, and I visit it every day. I am not posting every day, but I am just making sure that all my peeps are still good and to get the latest news.
You are doing a very good job to keep the board fresh and entertaining. Although the entertainment is usually provided by some of the ladies comments.
As many of you know, I am a South African and this is my only contact to the world of country music and I really appreciate it.

The board is awesome, I find a lot of new info here.

Thank you, Ranger. Unfortunately, online or off, false claims aren't always to be "so much cooler online", as Brad would say. Sometimes, the reasons are much more sinister. I don't know about the poster you're referring to, but we all know the Internet can be used to do harm as well as good.

Just want to add also that this board isn't strictly for
George Strait posts. You are free to post threads here
about just life in general. It's a community and here for
everyone that is a GS fan to come together.

I am on several boards. My name is always donnabe or medonnabe. We had this same problem on the CMT board with a person. Finally a group of us gals just broke off and are doing the "private Email" thing. This one particular person, that was alway causing an uproar, is on this board as well. I have no idea if it is the same person you are talking about or not, but THANK YOU, for looking out after all of us.

Thanks Ranger, for looking out for us. I, for one, appreciate it more than you know. I am ALWAYS str8fan12, no matter where I post but I have had trouble in the past with someone (probably the same person you blocked) posting as me and saying mean and cruel things to other posters.

And I have seen that poster here so I'm hoping that it's the same person who you have blocked.
