AMC is showing the ORIGINAL Lonesome Dove this weekend on Saturday and Sunday night. This is the original mini-series that was cleaned up for the 20 year anniversary with host, Tommy Lee Jones. If you are a George Strait fan then you should be a Lonesome Dove fan as well. There will be a test afterward... LOL

I have it on DVD but still watched it this version is cleaned up quite a bit. They came out with this version on DVD recently and it can still be found at wallyworld but make sure to look for the special edition box.
This has to be the greatest cast of actors ever put together.

You know it!!! Robert Duvall is awesome, and Tommy Lee Jones is has the second best smile in Texas. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Just one of my favorite all time movies / mini-series.
Gus to Call: "It ain't dyin' I'm talkin' about...it's livin'."
Some people live their lives with no adventure and some wonder what is out there in this world.
Gus, even in death made sure that his friend, Woodrow Call returned to Texas with his body and made his adventures continue. A great story about taking life by the horns and living, friendship and commitment.
They couldn't live such rich lives as rangers and then sit in Lonesome Dove getting old.
And from the George Strait slong Living and living well...
"I'm talkin bout living"
.
