STARS LINE UP TO HONOR GEORGE STRAIT
Brooks & Dunn,JamieFoxx,Jack Ingram,Alan Jackson,Jamey Johnson,
Miranda Lambert,Montgomery Gentry,John Rich,LeAnn Rimes,Blake Shelton,& Lee Ann Womack have been added to the list of performers who will honor George Strait at next month's ACM Artist Of The Decade event in Las Vegas. These stars will join previously announced performers Faith Hill,Toby Keith,Tim McGraw,Sugarland,Taylor Swift & Keith Urban in honoring "THE KING OF COUNTRY."

As the reigning Artist Of The Decade,Garth Brooks presented George with the honor,telling the crowd that King George was the one who had inspired him to head for a career in country music. Speaking of hearing George's song "Unwound." Brooks said..from that very second I knew what I wanted to be. It was so easy and it didn't seem that far away. I wanted to be George Strait." YEAH!!!

Taylor Swift took to the stage to perform Strait's "RUN" and did a little story telling of her own. When I was 16 I went on my first tour,as opening act for George Strait. I'd never been on a big stage before or sung in an arena. I asked him if he had advice about performing in the round. He said....yes I do. I sensed that I needed a follow up question. So I asked George.....how do you do that? He said..just do it for 25 years and it will feel natural.

Lee Ann Womack & Jamey Johnson paid tribute to King George.

Jamey Johnson said he was never in a situation where he had the guitar & George at the same place at the same time.
King George concluded the evening by telling the crowd.....I've played in here quite a few times and I've never been this nervous,as he led his fellow country stars in a sing-a-long of his smash hit "TROUBADOUR."

Everyone thought Kenny Chesney would be the first to perform at this phenomenal event. Maybe with the way Kenny's label treated George with the song Shiftwork,they don't want Kenny on the show. There was friction with Kenny's label and they almost kept George from getting credit on that song.For a long time on the charts,George was not getting credit. Then again Kenny's label did the same thing with Tracy's song. They sent a letter to radio two weeks before the song went #1 demanding radio to stop playing the version with Kenny.What do you expect with the politicial monopoly Sony that rules country,not only with awards but with radio play. Funny that Kenny's latest album will only release two singles.Could it be because it's tanking in sales. The album only sold 600,000 so far...heh maybe he won't even get platinum.Now that would be funny and a big blow to his OVERSIZED EGO!!!!!!
