Does anybody know of a way to NOT view all the posts on the CMT message board. Recently there has been some posts that I find really disturbing, disrespectful and in bad taste. I have flagged some of these posts, but I would much rather prefer to not read it at all. Maybe there is a way to block posts from certain people. I don't want to stop them from posting - I am just not interested to see the comments and posts. In my limited experience, the Strait fans have always been so respectful and it was a pleasure to read the posts on the message board. Unfortunately it has changed dramatically. I don't want to stop going to the board, because I have made some friends there and it is nice to catch up, but lately I am upset almost every time I visit the board. Is it only me and am I too sensitive, or are there other people that feel the same way??

I don't go to the CMT board anymore, but why don't you turn them in to CMT? Are you talking about the new board or the great old CMT board? If you book marked the old CMT board..it is easy to turn someone in. I don't understand "why" anyone would write anything derogatory about King George!!

I haven't been on in a few days... what happened? I hope someone is not making a mockery of Buddy's death. That would be in such bad taste, especially because Kara visits often.

Hmph. That is so lowclass to make fun of anyones death. Buddy Strait is not an exception.

I haven't been on CMT in a while, but the last time I was there, I noticed people wanted to really disrespect George's privacy. They wanted pictures of his home. They wanted to know about his mom, and they wanted to press the issue. George is a private person in some ways despite his status, and it's disrespectful to stick your nose where it isn't invited.

After you flag them, it takes about a day for them to disappear. I was upset by one in particular and flagged it. It is now gone.

probably not real fans of George. they probably just come to the boards to see what kind of gossip they can dig up or start. any REAL Strait fan knows how private George is about his life outside of music. He has earned it and deserves it.

No kashkarson It wasn't your post. You are more sensitive than the one that was flagged.

>:(I'm really having a hard time understanding why some people have to be so insensitive and have no respect for what they say. To be so disrespectful to King George and his awesome fans, that is simply not a cool thing to do. Why can't they block posts like that so we don't have to read it and get upset because as fans we really care about king George. I'm apologizing now for my post, but i needed to vent a little, Thanks icefire

It was distastefulness what was posted on the CMT message board and was probable disturbing to everyone who was reading it. All of the George Strait fans have so much respect for the King. It was extremly disrespectful to post. They need to apologize to George Strait, then apologize to all of his fans who are out there. I really hope this doesn't affends anyone and if it does I apologize for this post

It needed to be said. I was one of the ones who scolded one of the insensitive people. She did say she was sorry and would try not to be insensitive again. I think if we post our objections about distasteful postings and have feedback from other fans, they will stop.

Thank you guys for showing a united front with the inappropriate posting. I had no doubt when I started this treat that there will be some action, so all I had to do is sit back and wait. It is unfortunate that some people do not respect the privacy of other people. I know the comment is often made that celebrities choose a certain lifestyle and they have to live with the consequences. The problem with that is that their families and friends did not necessarily sign up for the same deal, but yet their lives are being scrutinized too. I love Mr Stait music but I could care less where he lives, who is mother is, where he goes on holiday and what his favorite food is. As long as he keeps singing, I will keep on listening. Does it make me less of a fan? I don’t know. I just belief that he has as much right to privacy as anybody else. He chooses to share his talent - not his life. I understand that people get a bit carried away sometimes and don’t get me wrong – it makes for interesting and very entertaining reading. But I just get so annoyed when there is such a blatant disrespect for someone’s feelings. javascript:add("%20> ") I think that artists often “retire” because of media pressure that has little (if anything) to do with their talent and then the REAL fans lose out. Anyway – I will get off my soup box now with these final words – You guys rock. javascript:add("%20:-*")

El - I couldn't have said it better myself....
I love this part:
"I love Mr Stait music but I could care less where he lives, who is mother is, where he goes on holiday and what his favorite food is. As long as he keeps singing, I will keep on listening. Does it make me less of a fan? I don’t know. I just belief that he has as much right to privacy as anybody else. He chooses to share his talent - not his life".
And NO, it doesn't make you any less of a fan. In fact, you are more a fan because you care about his talent. Same here, I love this man, I love his music. He has done more for me with his music than anybody. But I will respect his privacy and his family. Sure it's fun to speculate what he likes to eat, where he vacations and so on, but I try to keep to the facts.... and the fact is -- HE IS ONE HELL OF AN ARTIST WITH A GOD GIVEN TALENT AND I'M D@MN GLAD HE CHOSE TO SHARE HIS GIFT WITH US.
Ok, I'm done --
FOREVER!
