According to Jon Solo, it made it on the mediabase charts this morning.
This is Jon Solo's post on CMT:
Not much reason to keep checking the daily Mediabase chart changes, with George a sure thing now, but...
Looking at George's audience total on MB, it increased from 32.615 yesterday to 32.919 this morning's update, an increase of 0.304 mill. And Taylor had another plunge, 32.769 yesterday to 31.878 this morning, a large 0.891 mill plunge, and now down 2.436 mill since Monday. It looks like they're gearing up for her next single, You Belong With Me, which she might play tomorrow night on the ACMs.
George is showing up at #1 on the Mediabase chart, for the nervous nillies who have been doubting me the last several days (you know who you are!!!) that the trends were clearly in George's favor. Just keep in mind, that it's always best to concentrate on the actual audience and spin totals, and not be influenced too much by the Spin Move numbers, as during mid-week, that total can include data from the current week, and also the previous chart week (Friday to Sunday), and not give a clear indication as to where songs are moving during the current chart week. Just do what I do: write down the audience totals every single day for the songs in question, and compare those to what the audience totals are the next day! It's a lot of work, but it you're a committed country chart fan (or if you deserve to just be committed to an institution...), it's worth it!
Speaking of the ACMs, since George has the #1 locked in for this week, I really hope that he has the brand new single ready to go, and can play it tomorrow night at the ACMs. That would give a ton of immediate exposure to it, and send him off to a nice debut. True, Timmy is debuting his brand new single there as well, and along with new Taylor would give him some competition for early spins on the chart, but it would almost seem like a waste if he plays River Of Love again. He played that at the CMAs last November, and if the song's already assured of #1, it's not like he needs the exposure for one last push. Best to give us something new.
Of course, if he's accepting that Artist of the Decade award, I guess he could play a big hit from his past, maybe from this decade, to memorialize what he's done. Give It Away, or The Best Day? Too bad Write This Down came out in 1999.
My response was Woo-Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
