How long have you been a fan of George and how did you become a fan? For me,I've been a fan since I was about 5. Maybe less. When I lived in FL,The doublewide I lived in, had speakers in the ceiling. So we could put anything on. I remember begging my Mom to play: "Cowboy music" and of course she agreed. And age 5 to this day. I still am a fan (:

I was sittin' on my Grandpa's lap, and Hee Haw was about to come on tv. I was fixin' to go into Kindergarten, so we were talkin' about kindergarten and how big I was gettin'. He said, "Well you're just growin' up right quick aren't ya! What do you wanna be when you grow up?" "Buck Owen's wife!" I replied. A few minutes into Hee Haw, Buck Owens and George Strait popped up out of the corn field at the same time. That was the first time I had ever laid eyes on George Strait. Boy, I thought George was the most handsome man I'd ever seen. He wasn't even singing. He was tellin' one of those corny Hee Haw jokes. I looked up at Grandpa and said, "Grandpa, I changed my mind. When I grow up, I wanna be George Strait's wife." Well, I never did grow up, so that didn't exactly work out for me, but he's still one of the most handsome men I've ever seen.

I have been a George Fan for half of my life now. This half of my life has certainly been sweeter!! I was 9, my brother had borrowed "Pure Country" from one of his buddies. And I was just sitting there staring at the screen till the credits came on. I was hooked, and totally in love with "Dusty"

Liked country for a long time but not the whiney crying kind of country music. I have plenty of rock music and have gone to enough concerts of all kinds of music to fill a bucket with ticket stubs.
These days the only crowds that I can stand to be around are country music fans. They still know how to respect each other and not get so drunk they are falling down the stairs.
When Pure Country came out in the theatres I went with a group of friends and it got me interested in his music.
And that was the start of it.

Ranger-wow thats alot of concerts. I used to be into bubblegum pop. I saw 'Jonas Brothers' 4 times and believe me,the crowds were like moshpits. My glasses even broke -_- So. That stopped me from going to see JB another time. Then I saw Miley Cyrus once(Now I can't stand her) and people were standing on tables and that was. ugh. crazy. I've never seen George live,my parents have, twice. And they enjoy his shows everytime. I'd probably like them too. I don't think they are like Mosh Pits. I like going to rodeos. I go to about 3 or 4 rodeos a year and those are so far,the only crowds I could stand being around. But if I went to a Strait concert,I bet that would change

I've been a fan since about 1985. My younger sister, who normally didn't listen to much country back then, gave me a cassette of one of George's earlier albums. I was hooked!!! I grew up with country music in my house; but also like the sounds of Mac Davis, John Denver, the Eagles. George put on a concert in my hometown in 1986, and I've been a fan club member ever since. He is simply put, the best!!!

I have been a fan since "Unwound". I remember hearing it on the radio coming home from a day shopping with my family. I didn't know what George looked like until I saw his album cover. Of course, I was thrilled to see how gorgeous he was! I have been a fan since!

I have only been a George Strait fan since the "She'll Leave You With A Smile" video was aired on CMT. Right after the video they showed "Pure Country" and later Austin City Limits and Stacked. WOW!!! I saw George and just got Carried Away!!! In the next few short years I've collected over 25 CD's and have gone to only 1 concert, so far. I'm making up for that this year. I can't believe I wasted all those years not knowing his music.
