With no warning and no care for all the posters that have spent
their time and energy contributing, CMT decided to DELETE
every post and thread on their mesage board.
Just goes to show you that Viacom (MTV) doesn't really
care about country fans.

I'd agree with that, Ranger. Maybe I missed some announcement, but I had no idea any changes were going to be made. I do like some new features on the boards there, but it was done without regard for the many posters and CMT viewers.

The new CMT message board is terrible. It is also a system that is saving your information to later attach adware to your computer so they can direct advertising to you in the future when they finish the upgrade. The system that CMT switched too is not operated by CMT and is a targeting database company that uses and sells your information to other advertisers and companies. NOT happy about this.  |

The old message board is still the same as it always was though.
Artists and Fans Network should have my George Strait quiz up tomorrow also. When they get it up, I'll get you the link. They have some George Strait videos on there now also. I'll put a link to this board on my profile, which is under savedixie, on AFN.

I really do not care for the "NEW" Strait board. I thought great I will get my old name back..GEORGEANNE. I did do that and the new board will let me post but does not link my name to CMT. I'm going to have to go with the name I used when I was posting on the Top Twenty Countdown. So if you see two names that belong to me,don't give it a second thought. THE NEW BOARD REALLY SUCKS & I WILL NEVER GET USED TO IT!! I DID BOOKMARK THE OLD STRAIT BOARD,SO I CAN GO THERE TO POST.   |

I don't love the new board much either. If they don't like what you have to say, they still delete it. It's like the Communist State of Country Music.

You are exactly right casims.
They have been deleting my posts forever.
One thing I have found about George Strait fans is that everyone
pretty much gets along just as we do at the concerts.
CMT & MTV are both VIACOM compainies and they have even added the MTV logo at the bottom of that message board.
We all know what MTV has done to the music industry in America.
Sadly, they have taken CMT and turned it into a reality show joke.

Sadly, they have taken CMT and turned it into a reality show joke. . That's why I fell in love with the Artists and Fans Network. They are what CMT should've been. They are just getting started, so they are having to take care of copyright issues and stuff, but they are getting more and more on there all the time. They are all about the music. The fans can do whatever there. It's awesome. The fans can start groups, make quizzes, create polls, post videos, post pictures, everything. Links are allowed. They are a little slow getting some things approved because there is so much to building a new network like that, but I really do like the website. Can't wait to see the channel. I'll have it next month. |

The one reason a board like this will always move forward is
because it is for the fans by the fans. I am not making money
from the board and the advertising at the top is done by
the board host service. We are what drives the industry
and not the other way around.
CMT has advertising and those artists and record companies
who are attached to the pages are due a piece of the profits
and they are so worried about getting those nickles and dimes
that they forgot that music is for people to enjoy and the more
we talk and socialize the more those artists get their name out.
We can actually pay at this board to take that advertising off
the top of the board but I don't even notice it.

It doesn't hurt anything to have those adds there. Nobody really notices them anyway, except when they have something to do with George. Once in a while, there'll be a link to a George Strait quiz or something. Those are kinda fun anyway. They usually have a picture or two.
