love your little avitar. I have always loved Gus, he had to be my favorite character from that book. However, I did not appreciate how wonderful McMurtry made Cap McCrae and then just killed him off. ANd he didn't just kill him nice either, blood poisoning, a horrible death. Augustus McRae is the sort of cowboy women can fall in love with really easily and I loved that character and it was horrible to see him die that way. Lonesome Dove is an awesome book, awesome characters, even the horses had great personalities.

I agree 100% about Lonesome Dove The original is a classic and I watch all 6? hours of it often. The idea of these men who had such a rich life and then slowly started to settle in that small town but then the adventure to start LIVING again. Just a classic. I guess if it wasn't for Gus dying then Woodrow would have never been forced further on another adventure. It's all about LIVING...

and they lived too. Those guys knew what life was about. They set a goal and pursued it. They did not let a single thing stop them. And they worked together and tried to get the others around them to work with them well too. Was it Jake that was hanged? Very sad moment. But i loved how Blue Duck was wove through the story and how Cal and Gus were both heroes, true heroes. you could tell they knew the danger and cost in a situation and also how they knew they had to take care of it, no matter what.

You do know that you can add your name to the bottom of your avatar.
I can add it if you are having trouble. Just pick what color you want to use from the menu.

that's a cool book, i read it long before i ever knew it was George's favorite. You should read it, it is probably one of the best westerns ever. Won a pulitzer prize also, if you have not, read Owen Wister's The Virginian, talk about a fantastic western. to me of course, there is no other type of movie or book for that matter. Sort of like George... you mean there are other singers ? LOL
