.... and here are the lyrics:
I’m not gonna lay around and whine and moan cause somebody done done me wrong. Don’t think for a minute that I’m gonna sit around and sing some old sad song. I believe it’s half full not a half empty glass. Every day I wake up knowin’ it could be my last.
I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time. So bring on the sunshine the hell with the red wine pour me some moonshine. When I’m gone put it in stone he left nothin behind I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.
Folks are always dreamin’ bout what they like to do but I like to do just what like. I take the chance, dance the dance it might be wrong, but then again it might be right. There’s no way of knowing what tomorrow brings, life’s too short to waste it, I say bring on anything.
I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time. So bring on the sunshine, the hell with the red wine, pour me some moonshine. When I’m gone put it in stone he left nothin behind. I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time
I ain't here for a long time, I'm here for a good time.

I haven't forgotten this site...I'm just spread too thin with so many things to do.
I'm not a drinker....but I love this song. George sounds a lot like he did in his early days on this song....something about his voice. Anyone agree with me?

I'd agree with that. Like any grait singer, he knows his voice and what works for him.

Haven't headed over to see what Jon Solo has to say, but I just pulled up Mediabase Country Charts and it shows HFGT at 26. Billboard Country is showing it as a debut at #29.

When I pull up a country chart other than Billboard, it's often different than what others post. I'll use the link Dusty posted.
I just went through 25 pages of pics here. It made me think of the periodic discussions of him retiring. I don't know when he'll retire, but looking at these pics, it's easy to see how much he loves performing. The traveling might get harder as the years go by, but his love of singing and performing comes through loud and clear on the pages and pages of pics all of you have posted.

Oh Elle - we do not ever say the "R" word. George has said he's not done until we say he's done. Well judging by the cd sales, ticket sales and the fact that his newest single is soaring up the charts... we are not done! And really, have ya seen him lately... 59 years old and he still looks like he's a young 'un... and the voice, yea.. what can i say about that except - superb! lol.. the man has got it all going on, don'cha think. ;D

But the topic seems to come up every now and then; most recently on Facebook. Panic sets in, tears start to flow and we risk total chaos. Then someone hears about a new CD or concert date and the calm returns.

Here For A Good Time is #20 on Billboard. Mediabase confuses me. If anyone needs the link to Jon Solo and his analysis, let me know.

Hi Casims. I check in here now and again. Wishing that some of the Facebook crowd would come here -- I can't keep up with FB posts and it's easier to find things on a board and catch up. But it seems this place doesn't take off until the tour starts. Someone posted that Aircheck is showing a nice climb for the new single. I'll check Solo's commentary in the next day or so. Good to "see" you again. Hope all is well.

Taste of Country George Strait Confirms Faith Hill Will Appear on New Album By: Billy Dukes | Yesterday
George Strait has confirmed that Faith Hill will be joining him on his next album. The two country greats will sing together on a song called ‘A Showman’s Life’ when ‘Here for a Good Time’ is available on September 6. Fans can pre-order the album now at Strait’s website.
According to Country Weekly, the song covers the highs and lows of a musician’s life on the road. Hill contributes background vocals on the song, which was originally recorded as duet by Gary Allan and Willie Nelson for Allan’s 2003 album ‘See if I Care.’ It’s one of the few songs on Strait’s album that was not co-written by the legend, his son Bubba Strait and Dean Dillon.
Nobody told me about this part / They told me all about the pretty girls / And the wine and the money and the good times / No mention of the wear and tear on an old honky-tonker’s heart,” Strait sings on the song.
This is his 39th studio album. The title track is his 89th radio single, and his second highest chart debut behind only ‘I Saw God Today.’ The album was recorded at the Shrimpboat Sound Studio in Key West, Fla., the same place he recorded each of his last three award-winning albums.
I think that is GRAIT that Faith Hill is singing a song with George. I like her a lot, and can hardly wait to get the new album!

HFGT is at 12 this week on Billboard.
I agree, Diana - Faith should be a grait addition to the album.
