Chuck Wicks "Stealing" Glances at Crowd Oct. 28, 2008 — Chuck Wicks made quite an impression with his first single, "Stealing Cinderella." In addition to becoming his first hit, it’s also earned the respect of his fellow composers: Members of the Nashville Songwriters Association International named it among 10 Songs I Wish I Had Written at this year’s awards. Still, seeing the song connect with the general public remains one of the best benefits. "The greatest thing in the world is looking out and seeing a little girl, no older than eight or nine, wearing a pink cowboy hat singing every single word of ‘Stealing Cinderella,’" Chuck told The Gettysburg Times. Despite the industry accolades and the fan reaction to the song, Chuck is still finding some of the effects of his fame a little difficult to get used to. "I remember the first time I saw someone wearing a Chuck Wicks T-shirt," he noted. "I wondered why anyone would want to wear my face on their chest." Chuck got to hear "Stealing Cinderella" sung back by the crowd often this year during his tour with Brad Paisley. Both Chuck and Brad are featured in an installment of GAC’s Into The Circle, which airs at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday. The episode will encore 10 more times through Saturday [glow=red,2,300] [/glow]

Charles Elliott (Chuck) Wicks (born June 20, 1979 in Smyrna, Delaware) is an American country music artist. He was one of the participants on the American reality series Nashville, which aired on Fox Networks for two episodes before its cancellation in mid-2007. In late 2007, he signed to RCA Nashville Records as a recording artist, with his debut single "Stealing Cinderella" being released in September of that year. It served as the lead-off to his debut album Starting Now, which was released in January 2008. Chuck Wicks was raised on a potato farm in the community of Smyrna, Delaware.[5] Wanting to pursue a career in country music, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee after quitting college two classes short of graduation.[4] He then began to hone his songwriting skills, penning more than one hundred songs per year at one point, and one of his songs, "Lead Me On", was cut by Steve Holy on his 2006 album Brand New Girlfriend. Eventually, Wicks caught the attention of RCA Records executives, who signed him to a recording contract in 2007. While he was working on his debut album, Wicks was also picked as a cast member for Fox Networks' short-lived reality TV series Nashville.[6] Due to poor ratings, however, Nashville was cancelled after its second episode. RCA then released Wicks' debut single, a ballad entitled "Stealing Cinderella". He debuted the song at his first Grand Ole Opry appearance in August 2007.[3][7] The single produced the biggest debut for any new country artist in all of 2007, with fifty-two of the stations on Billboard's survey adding it in its first official week of airplay.[8][9] Shortly after the song's release, University of Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer heard it; Fulmer said the song "hit (him) like a ton of bricks," so he contacted Wicks, arranging a private performance at his daughter Courtney's wedding.[8] "Stealing Cinderella" went on to become the fastest-rising single for a new country act in all of 2007,[10] reaching a peak of #5 on the country charts. The song was included on Wicks' debut album Starting Now, which was released January 22, 2008.[11] The track "All I Ever Wanted" was released in April 2008 as its second single, and has charted in the Top 20 as well. In August 2008, Wicks began dating fellow country singer Julianne Hough, who is also a professional dancer and two-time champion on Dancing with the Stars.[12]

Saw Chuck in concert with Brad this past August. He did a wonderful job on his part of the show. Not too bad on the eyes either.
