I love it!:] I'm so glad he went more country, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Hootie and The Blowfish fan. But he has a great voice, especially in Don't Think I Don't. what do you guys think?

Darius Rucker Fits Right In Oct. 8, 2008 — Darius Rucker was overwhelmed when his first country single, "Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It," also became his first song to reach No. 1 on the national country charts. Though he’s the lead singer of pop music’s Hootie + The Blowfish, Darius’ success with that song confirmed that he had a place in country music. That was such an important issue for him that Darius actually conducted a personal test once he finished his first country album to see if he fit in with the genre’s other artists. He couldn’t be certain about it — after all, it was his own music, making it hard to be objective — but he thought the music was authentically country. "That was the thing I was so proud of when we were done," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I remember doing this on purpose — I played a Josh Turner song, then I played a Trace [Adkins] song, and then I played a Brad [Paisley] song, and then I played one of my songs. I played 'Don't Think.' And I was just so happy, riding in the car, just playing it that way... It didn't sound like it shouldn't have been there. It sounded like, yeah, it was right where it should've been." After peaking at No. 1, "Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It" is still in the Top 5, and there’s a nice full-circle feeling to the whole project. Having tested his music against Brad’s, Darius is now slated to open for Brad on the Paisley Party Tour beginning in January.

I have always loved his music. Even when he was with Hootie. But now that he's country,I'm even more psyched.
